In the 21st Century, Houston’s population has grown 26%[1] and is more ethnically diverse than most metropolitan areas in the US. The Port of Houston is celebrating 100 years in 2014 and currently ranks second in total tonnage handled among US ports and tenth in the world. There are 23 Fortune 500 companies which call Houston home, second only to New York City. As an independent nation, Houston’s economy would rank 30th in the world. These are impressive statistic for a city. However, Houston (and we, the residents of this great city) is not sitting idle.
The main objective of ‘Houston 2025 and Beyond’ is to bring together thought leaders from various fields in Houston to chart a path for the next 10 years. We want to dream, brainstorm and start working on the future we want in 2025 and keep it going.
The three prong approach to achieve this objective is
A bi-annual gathering of thought leaders to discuss challenges and solutions which impacts Houston, India and their mutual interests
Provide a tailored platform to encourage multi-lateral business, trade and commerce between Houston and India
Provide a platform to synergize competencies on a local-to-global scale, to match demand to supply
